The John Deere S180 is the flagship 54-in. model of the 100 Series lawn tractor lineup, designed for homeowners with 1-3 acre yards who want the widest cut, premium comfort, and no-compromise features at the 100 Series price point. Like all 100 Series tractors, it includes the John Deere Easy Change™ 30-Second Oil Change System.

Power comes from a 24 HP (17.9 kW) V-Twin Extended Life Series (ELS) gas engine with cast-iron cylinder liners, overhead valves, full-pressure lubrication with oil filter, and electronic ignition for fast starts. The Kanzaki® Tuff Torq® K46 hydrostatic transmission delivers smooth infinite-speed control.

The 54-in. Edge™ mower deck is a three-spindle design built from 12-gauge steel with 3-in-1 blades for tool-free transitions between discharging, mulching, and bagging.
