The John Deere S160 is the premium 48-inch model of the 100 Series lineup, engineered for homeowners with 1 to 2 acres who want extra cutting width, comfort, and ease-of-maintenance. Assembled in Greeneville, Tennessee, it features the proven John Deere Easy Change™ oil system, an electric PTO, and a heavy-duty 48-in. Edge™ mower deck.

Power comes from a 24 HP (17.9 kW) V-Twin Extended Life Series (ELS) gas engine, with cast-iron cylinder liners, overhead valves, full-pressure lubrication, and electronic ignition for fast starts. The Kanzaki® Tuff Torq® TLT200 hydrostatic transmission with side-by-side foot pedals delivers infinite speed control without lifting a foot off the platform.

The 48-in. Edge™ mower deck is a three-spindle design built from 12-gauge (0.105 in.) steel, with a rolled outer edge for strength, a flexible discharge chute, and 3-in-1 blades ready for side-discharge, mulching, or bagging. An adjustable lumbar seat, deluxe 14-in. steering wheel, and standard front bumper round out a comfortable operator package.
