The John Deere Z515E is the entry-level model of the Z500 Series, designed for homeowners with 1-2 acre lawns who want a solidly-built zero-turn with the durability of the Z500 platform at a more accessible price point. It shares the same rugged frame and proven High-Capacity mower deck as higher Z500 models.

Power comes from a 24 HP (17.9 kW) V-Twin engine with 44.3 cu in. (726cc) displacement. Dual Tuff Torq® TZT7-M unitized hydrostatic transmissions are sealed, maintenance-free, and positioned low in the vehicle for excellent hillside stability. Top speed is 7.5 mph.

The 48-in. High-Capacity mower deck is constructed from heavy 9-gauge (0.15 in.) steel with a deep-deck design and wide, tall discharge opening for even clipping dispersal. 1-in. cold-forged spindles are heat-treated and ball-bearing supported for reliability.
