The John Deere S240 Sport with 42-in. deck is a sporty-styled 100 Series tractor with the narrower deck option, designed for homeowners with up to 1-acre yards who want a maneuverable 42-in. tractor with upgraded features. Its larger 20-in. rear tires and black hood trim give it a distinctive look.

Power comes from a 21.5 HP (16.0 kW) V-Twin gas engine with cast-iron cylinder liners, overhead valves, and full-pressure lubrication. The Kanzaki® Tuff Torq® K46 hydrostatic transmission – a step up from the TLT200 in other 100 Series models – delivers smoother operation and heavier-duty durability.

The 42-in. Edge™ mower deck is a two-spindle design built from 12-gauge stamped steel with 3-in-1 blades for tool-free transitions between discharging, mulching, and bagging.
